How fast is the world’s fastest Internet?

Danish scientists have created the fastest Internet providing system. The new optical fibre created by the researches can download an entire movie in just 0,2 milliseconds, in the blink of an eye.

The new optical fibre can transfer 43 terabits per second.

The Danish researchers are now claiming the world record for the fastest Internet. The previous owners of the title were the scientists from Karlsruhe Institut für Technologie in Germany, who created a network able to reach speeds of 32 terabits per second.

According to Extreme Tech, the optical fibre used in the researcher’s invention contains seven cores – glass threads – instead of a single core used in standard fibres. Incredibly, the fibre is the same width as standard fibre.
Such traffic is estimated to be growing by 40 to 50 per cent every year, and is set to soar as more people use internet-connected devices in the home and technology in cars becomes more complex.
